Our Story

The Severe Burns Life Support Foundation is a collaboration between two of the burn communitys leading experts.

Patrick Bourke is a clinical educator at Waterjel Technologies for 27 years. Patrick has been with SBLSF since 2008 providing Severe Burn Life Support Training to Emergency Medical and Rescue Practitioners worldwide, specialising in the treatment of the burn injured patient, scene assessment and safety for the responding crews, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue, Police (all sections) Sea Air Rescue, Military and Industrial.

Ken Dunn is a Consultant Burns and Plastic Surgeon, having spent XX years at Manchester Foundation Trust. Ken is the founder and chief architect of the UK’s National Burn Injury Database (iBID).
